The Movement
Lehodimo means heaven or sky. Here at Zanchieta, Wings of Lehodimo is the life force behind our ethical rescue, rehabilitation, and rewilding efforts
We don't do hands-on tourist interactions, and we don't treat wildlife like props. Instead, we bring together passionate individuals from around the globe to form The Rewilders—a dedicated, down-to-earth crew who get their hands dirty to give our resident big cats, primates, and wildlife a true sanctuary.
Joining the Wings of Lehodimo program means stepping directly into the daily heartbeat of a working wildlife sanctuary.
Being a part of the crew is an immersive, raw, and life-changing experience.
The Local Legends (Symbol Key for Humans)
The Blue Hand (You): This represents you! You are the "human care" team. Treat the animals with grace, and they might just let you take a photo for your Facebook.
The Orange Paw: Respect the paw. These animals are connected to the iron-rich earth, and they have the home-ground advantage.
The Bloemfontein Heart: You are officially in the center of the universe (well, the center of SA).
Are You Ready for Dust & Wings?
Preparing specialized, species-specific diets for our residents (including big cats and primates) and maintaining clinic logs
Building, upgrading, and creating innovative structural enrichment to keep our animals mentally and physically stimulated
Living on-site in the heart of the Free State, sharing meals, and swapping stories under the stars with a global tribe.
Cleaning enclosures, clearing brush, fixing fences, and doing the vital ground tasks that keep our sanctuary running safely and ethically.
The Ground Rules
We pride ourselves on our uncompromising ethical standards. Before you apply to join The Rewilders, ensure you align with our core values:
We enforce a zero-interaction policy with our adult predators and wild residents. We respect their wild nature and their peace
From majestic white lions to tiny vervet monkeys, every single animal under our roof receives equal dedication, respect, and elite care.
We operate as a unified, collective team. No egos, no hierarchies—just hard work and a shared passion for wildlife conservation
